quarantine activity bingo (free printable)

April 22, 2020 · In: home, life, motherhood

Let’s get real. When I created our preschool game plan and schedule, I didn’t expect us to really end up here.

7 weeks later, still in quarantine. No school for the rest of the school year, either.

I’ve run through my social distancing activities with my kids. Our schedule is fizzling out. (Although it still is a handy way to organize the day. Here’s another great routine starter for at home moms.)

This self-isolation with kids is wearing me out. I want to be able to go out again, to visit the library, to go to a museum, to have playdates.

BUT because I am fully on board with keeping as many people safe as possible, we will stay home and wait it out. And we’ll have fun and engage and enjoy our time as much as we can.

My goals for our current quarantine days are this: a little bit of learning, creating, and kindness/helpfulness, and not too much screen time in a day.

(No shame in my mom game, though. Educational apps, PBS Kids, and Disney+ are lifesavers, too.)

So lately, we’ve been incorporating things in, one activity at a time. And even though we seem to revolve around the same activities, my kids don’t seem to mind.

Some of them they even take on independently, leaving me a little mom breathing space to sip my coffee or check my email.

Today I’m sharing a simple free printable Quarantine Activity Bingo sheet.

Download PDF Here

This Quarantine Activity Bingo can be filled out daily, because it’s all activities you can do differently every time. Fill out one row or column. Or see how many total you can knock out in a day.

It can even be used as a chart to record your kids’ activities if you want them to earn a special treat, like screen time.

And bonus! They all contribute to some form of learning or character development.

Nature walks are a great way for your little scientists to observe the world around them and ask questions.

Board games become ways of counting and keeping track of numbers.

Making cards means learning how to be considerate of others (while practicing writing or drawing).

Baking is a little science, a little math, and a little kindness (if you want to share).

Hopefully it’s a fun way to shake up your days a little. I know that for moms, this quarantine is especially hard. Hang in there – we will get through this.

Now how about you?

Which parts of the Quarantine Activity Bingo will your kids love? What activities have been lifesavers for you during this time?

The Bible contains all kinds of genres: storytelling, letters, prophetic literature—and yes, poetry, too.

It’s a startling fact when you’ve only read the Bible as being prescriptive. (Or even aimed directly at you.) God truly speaks in all kinds of languages to meet us where we are.

And then, so much poetry! My creative, contemplative heart is drawn to this. God is creative, emotional, deep, compassionate, and insightful.

What form of worship or biblical genre just speaks straight to you?

Most of these I found out the hard way. Thankfully God’s helping me set better boundaries, trust my Spirit-guided intuition, and not worry so much about people-pleasing anymore.

Not only that… Women in the scriptures take bol Not only that…

Women in the scriptures take bold, audacious action to do what is right and to further God’s purpose.

But this was the very first time I realized how Jesus included women in the narratives about the Kingdom specifically.

Women partner with God to bring about the Kingdom, on earth as it is in heaven. We’re part of the plan. Anyone who tells you your role is diminished in God’s eyes is not considering how Jesus spoke of and interacted with and commissioned women.

Maybe we’ve been going about this the wrong way.

What if the good news starts with God’s loving invitation? What if it’s not really about fear tactics?

Sitting with that this week.

Welcome. Pull up a seat. Grab a cup of coffee or t Welcome. Pull up a seat. Grab a cup of coffee or tea. It’s okay to let the tears fall and talk good theology here. Follow along for more.

I’m Jenn, and I’m just a girl, standing in front of the internet, baring my soul as I go through a faith, existential, identity crisis.

I’m only kind of joking 🤣

Here, we talk about the reality of messy, expansive, healing faith:
- life after spiritual burnout, change in beliefs or loss of faith community
- learning to take up space and be yourself
- mental, physical, and spiritual well-being
- everyday devotion
- good theology with healthy curiosity
- living like Jesus, not using his name to cause harm

Also: books, 90s/00s rom-coms, coffee, running, Swiftie fun, and pretty things, because balance 😄 I hope you stick around.
