Monday I did something drastic.
I put a link on Facebook to this blog. (Some of you may have found your way here through this link. Some of you don’t care. Some of you are now ruthlessly stalking this blog. You don’t have to be creepy, though. You can tell me. I can take it.)
So, for those of you who didn’t know anything about this (and it’s a lot of you), here’s the story:
I started reading blogs about two years ago. They just seemed glamorous and fun and it was like having a million magazines to read, only they got updated daily, and these are real people. Not celebrities, but other newlyweds, and those in similar stages of life, creative, funny, stylish, smart, spiritual people.
I timidly put a blog out there around two years ago, just for photography. A few months down the road, I started a new blog with a mass of different topics, and got into more of the “blogger” side of it – getting followers, working on the look of the blog, doing contests, etc. Then, towards the end of last year, it grew to be too much, and I re-invented it again, this time focusing on me, the things I’m learning and studying out spiritually, life, pictures, and my new love of event planning.
And now I still do it, but it’s pretty much been for me. Just to have fun, put things out there, share ideas and inspiration, and keep sort of a journal on my life.
I was embarrassed to share this blog with my real-life friends (minus a few) because, not to sound too fifth-grade, but I was worried people would find it and make fun of me. I think there definitely is the side of blogging that can be superficial and silly and even self-interested, but I think it’s also been a great way for me to get my thoughts out there, even if no one ever read them.
And now, finally, I figured it’s time to share it with people who love me and hopefully won’t judge me too much : ) So there you have it.

Yay!!
I honestly know what you mean. It's hard to share your blog with your loved ones, especially since we invest so much time into it. You don't want anyone to say anything negative, because that hurts, and it's irritating. Props to you for sharing your blog on Facebook! It's lovely, and a great read 🙂
Cheers!

I felt the same way when sharing my blog for the first time! And like you, I fell in love with reading other blogs. I'm inspired by all of the other bloggers I have (virtually) met, and can't wait to keep at it! I love reading your blog! 🙂
