Happy Galentine’s and Valentine’s Days! Whether you’re going out on the town or staying in with your significant other, loving on your kiddos or hanging with your girls, I hope you’re celebrating love in some way today.
This was going to specifically be a post for Valentine’s outfit ideas. But I realize that I’m not much into going all heart-print or pink and red. (Not that I’m against it, go all out!)
It does go a little beyond one day of the year. SO here are my best tips for putting together a simple winter date outfit, that works for any time.

Textures
Winter is the season when all the fun textures come out – faux leather, velvet, chunky knits. Maybe just pick one to work into your outfit to give it a more unique look. I wouldn’t overdo the statement pieces.
Linking my leggings, and a few others. I got mine from Poshmark – it’s always a great place to check! (Use my affiliate code ‘jennks1’ to get $5 off your first order.)
Feminine Details
It’s the perfect time to pull out a little lace, a peplum, or flutter sleeve. Bows, embroidery, and eyelet too. Those subtle features are pretty, and make you feel pretty, too.

I got this peplum top for $5 at Walmart! It doesn’t appear to be online, but check out their store – their Time and Tru pieces are pretty amazing. I tagged some other options as well.

This Adrianna Pappell sweater came from TJ Maxx. I love the little flounce mixed-media detail on the back – it’s just enough to feel a little dressy without going overboard.
Cardigan + Dress Combo

I wear a lot of casual dresses in the everyday (usually with leggings if it’s cold). Adding a pretty cardigan on top and a long pendant makes for a day-to-night look that’s easy to pull off.
This is like the Nordstrom-iest outfit I have, by the way.
How about you? What are some of your go-to date night formulas?
