Mother’s Day is coming! Are you the type that plans well in advance? Or are you familiar with the last-minute shuffle for Mother’s Day gifts?
Confession: I’m a last-minute kinda gal. It’s not just with Mother’s Day – I mean with all holidays. I kind of look at the actual date of the holiday as the deadline, and not the week or so ahead of time it actually takes to get the gifts together.
(This post contains affiliate links – you can find the full disclosure here.)
Fortunately, we’re also Amazon Prime members. Which means we can still gift in the clutch with free two-day shipping. (Hint: You can get a free 30-day trial even if you aren’t a member yet!)
Thank you, Amazon Prime. We last-minuters salute you.
If you’re just now realizing that the holiday is fast approaching, here are a couple great Mother’s Day gift ideas to show your mom some love.
Also, offended I would even suggest such a thing? Well, I’m a mom. And I can tell you that even just a little gesture, even if you forgot until today, means so much.
For the Mom with the Green Thumb
You can actually get real plants and flowers shipped through Amazon. This is something I did not know until this year. These Mother’s Day gift ideas are for the mom who likes a little green in her life, and cherishes time spent outside.
Succulents are easy and make for such pretty decor in any house. You can go pretty and rosy, or green and fresh. She can also grow her own flowers with bulbs and plants – peonies, knockout roses (my personal favorite that are low-maintenance), ranunculus, or tulips.
Or get her some accessories for her plant babies. There are lovely macrame plant hangers (to hold those succulents you got), planter baskets for the window, decorative ceramic wall planters, or the practical stacking planter. Or get her a legit set of gardening tools.
For the Traditional Mom
This mom is happy with flowers and chocolates. She doesn’t like to make a big deal about Mother’s Day – but you can still show you care.
Again – you can get real live flowers delivered via Amazon Prime! I’m really loving the brand Kabloom – they have some gorgeous (and reasonably-priced) tulips, roses and orchids, hydrangeas, and daisies.
Also, chocolates are usually a winner. Godiva truffles have my heart. Lindt is also a yummy choice, and hello, chocolate-covered sandwich cookies!
For the Mom who Needs to be Pampered
Mother’s Day gifts for the mom who needs self-care. A pretty new scent, calming skincare, or brightening makeup would make a lovely present. Since you know I’m a clean, non-toxic beauty supporter, all of these fall in that category.
It’s an unpopular opinion, but I actually don’t recommend perfume. Fragrance typically contains all kinds of potential allergens and other harmful ingredients. If you want to go with one, try the vegan Tulip perfumes, in all kinds of scents like Amber Vanilla Bean, Coconut, or Mandarin Peony.
All-in-one kits are a great (and not overly expensive) way to gift new products. Grown Alchemist is one of my favorite natural brands, and they have a three-in-one lip balm/hand cream/day cream set in trial sizes. Also, Juice Beauty has a hydrating set, to calm and rejuvenate dry (and maybe stressed out?) skin.
Honest Beauty has a really pretty eyeshadow palette that would gift well. Also RMS Beauty has a simple, all-in-one makeup palette that looks fun! One of my favorite lipsticks ever is from Bite Beauty, and they have a whole set of mini lipsticks in a chic case.

For the Stylish Mom
A little jewelry never hurt! You can try something fashionable, or go the personalized route with birthstones or engraving.
Kendra Scott is my go-to. The Esme earrings have a bit more of a statement to them; the Betty studs are simple and classy. A Leonor bar necklace looks good with every outfit, while the Inez pendant is a showstopper. There’s a style for everyone, in a color they’ll love.
Personalized jewelry is always special. This teardrop cascade necklace can come with everyone’s birthstones – mom, husband, and kids. Or give a necklace with engraved initials instead.
Amazon also has some fun tees that might be a perfect fit. Try Wonder Woman; I’m Not Like a Regular Mom, I’m a Cool Mom; Blessed Mama; or Go Ask Your Dad. And finally – if your mom is a hat person: Mama Bear; #momlife; and Mom Hair Don’t Care are cute ones.
For the Tech Savvy Mom
Test and tried kitchen gadgets that are mom-approved: the Instant Pot (hallelujah for quick and easy dinners) and the Kitchenaid Mixer (so no one has to destroy their wrists while stirring cookie dough). I have an Instant Pot and love it – it really does cook meat perfectly and can cut cooking time in half or less. I’m still dreaming about the Kitchenaid Mixer.
Also, why not treat her to a year of Amazon Prime? It’s one of my family’s favorite memberships. We use it to watch movies, listen to music, score good deals, and enjoy free shipping. (Or get it for yourself so you can get these goodies shipped in two days for free. Get a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime here!)
Finally, the Alexa smart speaker makes a great gift, too. Listen to music, find out what the weather will be, hear the news, get movie showtimes, and more. We use ours all the time.
So how about you?
Are you ready with Mother’s Day gifts in hand this year, or looking into some of these last-minute options? If you’re a mom yourself, what kind of gifts do you like best?
