Hey there. For the first time in a while, you’re getting more than just crickets from this page. It’s nice to be back.
This season has been one of change and transition. So I took a little time to reassess about this blog – what I love about it, why I write, and what I write about.
And here’s what I’ve come up with.
I’ve always tried not to limit the categories here on the blog. It’s never really had a “niche”. I had hoped to make the whole site well-rounded – faith, relationships and lifestyle being my key components.
Lifestyle being general enough to include any and every interest I have. Plus leaving room for amazing collaborations that I truly have been lucky enough to be able to incorporate in.
But the topics I really love writing about are faith and relationships.
These are the posts that connect with people, that make a difference. They’re the ones that prompt responses like, “I needed to read this,” and “I’m so glad I’m not alone in feeling this way.” Sometimes it even gets responses like, “you’re wrong,” which help me to dig deeper and learn and grow. I need that too.
Along the same lines, a concept that has been helping me in my goals is one from Lara Casey of Cultivate What Matters. And it’s this:
Where do I want to be when I’m 80?
Sure, there’s a lot of fun things I can write about, and sponsorship opportunities to be had.
But when I’m 80, I hope to look back on writing that brought life and hope, that connected hearts, that inspired more digging into scripture and working out your own relationship with God. I hope my writing can point women to God and Jesus, and remind them of their incredible worth.
So, in conclusion…
The posts that are about fashion or shopping or beauty are going to be much fewer, if any.
I’ll be honing in on writing about faith, motherhood, and marriage.
Side note to say…
I know I’ll probably lose people going this route. Not that the masses were following me for my style tips (ha!), but some people are looking for more lighthearted reading, and maybe nothing religious at all. That’s okay, and if that’s the case, I’m glad you’ll be going after what you most need.
But for those of you that are here and sticking around, a sincere thank you. My hope is to make this a space for you to find your worth to God in Christ, your purpose in this season of life you’re in, and to hone in on what matters most.
