enneagram bible verses by type

July 14, 2020 · In: inspiration, lifestyle

Looking for Enneagram Bible verses for your personality type? Read on!

The Enneagram personality test and types are trending, and I am fully on board.

Enneagram is a series of 9 personality types that connect to different core desires, talents, motivations, and pitfalls. It’s all about how you interpret the world around you, and interact with it.

Personally, although it took a few tries to really narrow down my personality type, it really clicked for me when I figured out which one I most related to. If you’re having trouble, I recommend really honing in on what motivates you, rather than your actions or what other people think.

Should Christians learn about their personality types?

For me, it’s a yes! Enneagram is such a helpful tool for Christians. It’s a great way to understand more about who God made you to be. If we are “fearfully and wonderfully made“, it only makes sense to me that we understand our design, and how we can best glorify him.

But once you know your type – then what? How do you apply Enneagram to your walk with God? Practically, it can help you discover your gifts, goals, tendencies, and triggers. It can affect how you interact with others, and how you understand their personalities, too.

Enneagram Bible Verses by Type

Since I’m now a bit of an Enneagram nerd, it was fun to consider each personality type and how it appears in the Bible.

There are a lot of factors about each type, but considering Enneagram and Christianity both together, I decided to focus in on these: how each type shows attributes of God, is challenged in their Christian walk, and is affirmed by God.

My prayer is that with these verses, you can better connect to God and learn how to glorify him with your personality!

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. – Proverbs 11:25

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. – Ephesians 1:4-6

Enneagram 3 Character and Bible Verses

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. – Isaiah 55:10-11

Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. – 2 Corinthians 3:12

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. Enneagram 9 Character and Bible Verses

Dirt, and the teeniest, tiniest strawberry seeds.

Sometimes it feels silly to keep watering that thing when there hasn’t even been a shoot of green. But we do.

If you’re still waiting to see what’s going to happen, keep watering. Leave a ❤️ or 💧 if this connects for you (or leave your own story of something growing, plant or otherwise).
